August 26, 2001, Seige of Salfit

Following the early morning bombing by F16's of the police station in the West Bank village of Salfit, the town has now been completely sealed off by the Israeli occupation forces. Eight thousand people live in the village and many others work and study there. Salfit is the sole provider of services for twenty-two surrounding villages. The only medical clinic, university, fire service etc. providing for the area are located in Salfit. The surrounding villages are now cut off from these services.
